Georgia, Ohio, Mississippi, Missouri, Kentucky and Alabama have made great efforts to enact pro-life laws. State lawmakers in Florida are working on pro-life legislation as well. However, the left isn’t thrilled. Many celebrities have pledged to boycott states like Georgia due to the pro-life laws.
“I will do everything in my power to get as many productions as possible — including ‘Insatiable’ — to move out of this state which continues to put forth oppressive, hurtful policy that contradicts everything the entertainment industry stands for,” Alyssa Milano stated.
Most recently, she’s called for a #SexStrike.
Our reproductive rights are being erased.
Until women have legal control over our own bodies we just cannot risk pregnancy.

Netflix appears to be cozying up to her calls for a boycott. The company said it would “rethink” filming in Georgia due to the pro-life laws.

“We have many women working on productions in Georgia, whose rights, along with millions of others, will be severely restricted by this law,” Ted Sarandos, Netflix’s NFLX, -1.90% chief content officer, told Variety. “It’s why we will work with the ACLU and others to fight it in court. Given the legislation has not yet been implemented, we’ll continue to film there, while also supporting partners and artists who choose not to. Should it ever come into effect, we’d rethink our entire investment in Georgia.”
Conservatives have pledged to boycott Netflix in the past. If Netflix follows through, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a counter-boycott rise up again.
