Biden Takes Massive 21-Point Lead Over Bernie Sanders In Latest Poll

The Democratic field is piling up with over 20 candidates vying to defeat President Trump in 2020. It would seem Democrats are meeting their self-imposed diversity quota with those such as Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Julián Castro and Amy Klobuchar in the running.

Despite that, the top tier of candidates includes former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders. Yes- two older white men.

While it’s still early in the game, many pundits predicted that it would come down to Biden and Sanders, and that’s currently shaping up to be the case.

According to a recent Morning Consult poll, Biden leads Bernie by an astounding 21 points– 40% to 19%.

The poll was based on 15,770 interviews with registered voters. The poll also calculated results from registered voters in early primary states specifically, including New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina and Nevada. Among those, the support for Biden is even greater– 44%. Sanders remains in a distant second with 20% support.

Interestingly, Sen. Warren makes it to third place among Democratic voters across the board with 8% support. However, Mayor Pete Buttigieg steals third place in early primary states, garnering 6% support.

The most recent Real Clear Politics average has Biden leading Sanders by over 23 points.
