Scarlett Johansson Says the ‘Democratic Party Is Broken in a lot of Ways’, Teases Political Run

Scarlett Johansson is a big-time liberal feminist and massive Planned Parenthood supporter.

As such, she was asked about the current political climate and made some surprising observations about the Democratic Party.

“…now is certainly the time to back someone,” she told Variety. “I think I have to do a little soul searching. I think the Democratic Party is broken in a lot of ways and just damaged from these past several years. For me, if there was one candidate that I felt we could all unite behind, certainly that would be the candidate that I would back.”

So…does this mean she doesn’t believe that specific candidate exists?

Iiiiiiiinteresting.

She also teased the possibility of running for office some day.

“Maybe some time in the future,” she said. “I think the greatest way to effect change is in local politics. Maybe at some point in the distant future I will feel that calling, but I just haven’t.”

So…that means there’s a chance. But for the time being, she’s not endorsing a Democratic presidential candidate. Don’t worry though. I’m sure she’ll start going all rabid feminist on us as 2020 draws closer. Don’t forget how highly she spoke of Hillary.

“Hillary is the right candidate for right now,” she said at the time. “I think she’s got a lot of integrity. She’s got a lot of stamina. She’s a very clever politician, and that’s actually important to me. Maybe it’s because I have a daughter now.”

Yes. She used “Hillary” and “integrity” in the same sentences.

That’s pretty hard to forget.
