WATCH: Bill Clinton confronted with accusations of sexual misconduct and rape
Holy SMOKES.
This is awkward, isn’t it?
Mueller redacted a pretty major chunk of his final report before it was publicly released. Some was redacted for “national security,” some redacted to protect the identities of those who not deserve nation scorn attention…and some?
To protect the Clintons.
Yup – a massive leak seems to indicate that the Mueller report included pretty scandalous information about the already scandalous couple.
According to Daily Mail:
The Mueller report contains redacted material that appears to reference a claim that the Russians intercepted communications of former President Bill Clinton having phone sex with Monica Lewinsky.
This could, of course, all be conjecture. But yeah. That’s a gross image.
The redacted material appears during a description of Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner’s contacts with Dmitri Simes, the CEO of the Center for the National Interest, a think tank that the report describes as having ‘connections to the Russian government.
The report mentions ‘Clinton-related information,’ but obscures additional detail.
During a meeting between the two men on August 17, 2016, Simes ‘provided Kushner the Clinton-related information that he had promised,’ according to the report. That statement is followed by a redaction totaling about three lines of text.
Three lines I’m hoping to never have to read.
It got blacked out for reasons of ‘Personal Privacy.’ The Justice Department negotiated such redactions with Mueller’s team after special counsel Robert Mueller turned in his report.
Well that was nice of them, wasn’t it?
THANKS FOR SPARING US.
It seems, however, that this is no way “new” news:
The claim that the Russians had tapes of Clinton and Lewinsky has already been publicly reported. The book Clinton Inc. by Daniel Halper reports evidence that the Russians, Israelis, and British ‘scooped up’ evidence of the tryst and made tapes.
It seems interesting to me that THIS was redacted, but the completely unsubstantiated report of Trump “pee tapes” with prostitutes became headline news for years.
Apparently, that wasn’t worthy of ‘Personal Privacy.’
