It’s All Crashing Down: Pelosi, Schumer Call for Emergency Testimony from Mueller

Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are in full blown panic mode. Mueller’s report didn’t exactly deliver what they wanted. There’s no evidence that Trump or his associates participated in Russia’s efforts to interfere in the election. Even though Barr concluded that there was no obstruction either, Democrats are scrambling. It’s all they have left. They have to make something happen. They need to doooooo something! They need to hear from Mueller immediately!

That’s what Chuck and Nancy are calling for now. They want him to publicly testify ASAP, citing Barr’s “partisan handling” of the report.

“Partisan handling” = not getting the conclusion they dreamt of for the past two years.

“Attorney General Barr’s regrettably partisan handling of the Mueller report, including his slanted March 24th summary letter, his irresponsible testimony before Congress last week, and his indefensible plan to spin the report in a press conference later this morning — hours before he allows the public or Congress to see it — have resulted in a crisis of confidence in his independence and impartiality,” Pelosi and Schumer wrote.

“We believe the only way to begin restoring public trust in the handling of the Special Counsel’s investigation is for Special Counsel Mueller himself to provide public testimony in the House and Senate as soon as possible,” they added.

Barr said he has no objection to Mueller testifying.

We’ll see what happens.
