Yup. It happened.
According to the sourcelink, Assange, who’s been holed up in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London for the past seven years, has been arrested for “failing to surrender to the court.”
If you recall, Assange sheltered in the embassy specifically to avoid being extradited to Sweden where he’d face a sexual assault allegation – a case that has since been dropped anyway.
But Assange believed he’d be extradited to the US for questioning about WikiLeaks if he ever left the Embassy. And it sounds like Ecuadorian officials were just plain sick and tired of hosting him, so they withdrew his asylum for “repeated violations to international conventions.” About a month ago, they took away his internet and stopped allowing visitors, so the writing has been on the wall.
WikiLeaks is reacting on Twitter.
URGENT: Ecuador has illigally terminated Assange political asylum in violation of international law. He was arrested by the British police inside the Ecuadorian embassy minutes ago.https://t.co/6Ukjh2rMKD

Julian Assange did not "walk out of the embassy". The Ecuadorian ambassador invited British police into the embassy and he was immediately arrested.
This man is a son, a father, a brother. He has won dozens of journalism awards. He's been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize every year since 2010. Powerful actors, including CIA, are engaged in a sophisticated effort to dehumanise, delegitimize and imprison him. #ProtectJulian pic.twitter.com/dVBf1EcMa5

Yikes.
Assange will stay in custody with the London police, and will appear in court as soon as is feasible.
Assange has never faced consequences for the top secret information he exposed. Video of his arrest below:
Awaiting comment from Pamela Anderson.
