Democrat Senators Would Rather Protect Baby Kittens Than Baby Humans, Introduce New Law

I love kittens – don’t get me wrong.

I am huge animal lover, and truly believe all of God’s creations should be treated with the compassion and respect they deserve. I’m ALL for avoiding any pain or inhumane treatment of animals. I will absolutely pay more for meat, eggs, or dairy I know was farmed in humane ways. I like knowing what went in to my food. I’m just that person.

And so are many Republicans. There’s nothing “liberal” about kindness and compassion towards animals. It’s simply the right thing to do.

A bill has been introduced to protect healthy kittens killed by the Federal government as part of an ongoing experiment. Republicans have signed on, as they are doing their best to protect ALL life:

Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), who cosponsored the KITTEN Act, stated, “The details of these kitten experiments keep getting worse and they need to end now. The fact that the USDA has been rounding up pets and other innocent dogs and cats in foreign countries —including at Chinese meat markets condemned by Congress — killing them and feeding them to lab cats back here in the States is simply disgusting and unjustifiable.” He also stated, “The fact that we need a piece of legislation to tell the federal government to stop killing kittens is ridiculous on its face. But what’s even worse is, when you hear the details that the government is actually breeding hundreds of these cats just to intentionally feed them parasite-ridden raw meat and then kill them even though they’re perfectly healthy.”

There’s no reason to kill kittens that don’t need to die. Period. If they are healthy, they should be given up for adoption. The fact that this needs to be said is kind of confusing to me.

What else is confusing to me?

That Democrats are VERY eager about this bill… while simultaneously denying HUMAN BABIES the same privilege.

The same Democrats who are writing bills about protecting kittens are also ok with denying crucial health services to babies born alive after botched abortions.

Truly bewildering, isn’t it?

According to Daily Wire:

As The Washington Free Beacon notes, Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Gary Peters (D-MI), and Tom Udall (D-NM) co-sponsored the KITTEN Act of 2019, which was introduced on March 7 after it was revealed that between 2003 and 2015, the U.S. government conducted experiments in which scientists euthanized dogs and cats from overseas and fed their remains to laboratory cats for research. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s lab in Maryland reportedly purchased 400 dogs from Colombia, Brazil and Vietnam, and over 100 cats from China and Ethiopia for the research, according to NBC News, which added that not only were dog remains fed to cats but cat remains were injected into mice.

But um…how do Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Gary Peters (D-MI), and Tom Udall (D-NM) feel about human babies?

Well, they’re seemingly not as important.

But on February 25, prior to the introduction of the Kitten Act, the Born Alive Abortions Survivors Protection Act came up for a vote before the Senate, which needed 60 votes for cloture in order to proceed, but failed; the vote got 53 yeas and 44 nays. Merkley, Booker, Peters and Udall all voted against cloture.

Yeah. You read that right.

Baby cats are worth protecting and fighting for.

Baby humans should be left to die.

Many have noticed this messed up discrepancy:

The Free Beacon quoted Lauren Fine, spokeswoman for Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) saying, “There is nothing more valuable than human life, and as a society we must defend it at every stage. It’s unfathomable that Democrats can find time to defend the lives of kittens, but at the same time are vehemently opposed to even the consideration of legislation designed to protect infants born alive during an abortion from being killed.”

Yes. Absolutely.

Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI), echoed, “I find it appalling that Democrats are so out of touch that they refuse to stand up for defenseless babies but are more than eager to defend animals.”

And see… I defend BOTH – knowing that humans will always be more important. I feel comfortable defending kittens because I know my priorities are in order.

The Free Beacon also quoted a GOP aide in the Senate asserting, “When Democrats want to talk about ending ‘taxpayer-funded kitten slaughter,’ they say it’s just common sense. When millions of pro-life Americans want to end taxpayer subsidies to the nation’s largest abortion business, Democrats rush to call it an extremist agenda.”

It’s truly mind-boggling, isn’t it?
