Someone’s going to have to walk me through this, because it sounds like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to declare war on the weather.
AOC recently sat down for a town hall-style event with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, and there was one moment where she talked about how we went to war “against one and then two countries” after 9/11. She immediately followed up with a remark about the lives lost as a result of Hurricane Maria. She was all, “where is our response?”

Um…one was a deliberate attack. The other was a natural disaster. I don’t think it’s fair to compare the two. It’s more than apples and oranges. It’s potato salad and salsa. Also, it sounds like AOC wants to wage war against the weather, which is awk. I know she probably didn’t mean it that way (yes– I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt on this one), but man. The jokes write themselves.
Watch out weather. We’re comin’ for ya!
