We talked about this survey on our show today. A recent survey of 2000 American millennials showed that nearly 60% of them feel life is more stressful now than it has ever been before.
A lot of their stress stems from technology, and in fact about 20% said getting no “likes” on a social media post is more stressful than getting into an argument with a partner.
WTF.
If you’re a person at ANY age who gets more stressed about the number of likes you got on a social media post than you do about an Actual Real Life Conflict, you have major issues.
The top 20 stressors for millennials are listed below:
1. Losing wallet/credit card
2. Arguing with partner
3. Commute/traffic delays
4. Losing phone
5. Arriving late to work
6. Slow WiFi
7. Phone battery dying
8. Forgetting passwords
9. Credit card fraud
10. Forgetting phone charger
11. Losing/misplacing keys
12. Paying bills
13. Job interviews
14. Phone screen breaking
15. Credit card bills
16. Check engine light coming on
17. School loan payments
18. Job security
19. Choosing what to wear
20. Washing dishes
The fact that washing dishes appeared as a stressor for millennials at ALL, let alone on the list of the top 20, just makes me more certain than ever that we are completely doomed.
But to cheer us all up, I wanted you to see this hilarious video I saw on Instagram (where it probably got soooooooo many likes! 😉 ) which makes fun of this weird obsession people have with social media recognition. Enjoy!
