R. Kelly Is Back In The Slammer, Also Faces New Charges

Holy crap, dude. I’m still amazed by King’s composure.

Well. You should know that R. Kelly is back in the slammer for not paying child support.

A spokesperson for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office confirms to ET that the 52-year-old singer was booked Wednesday afternoon.

Kelly is in custody due to unpaid child support in the amount of $161,663, according to the spokesperson, and will be released when he pays the full amount owed. His next court date is scheduled for March 13.

Kelly’s publicist tells ET that the singer offered to pay $50,000 to $60,000 in court today and set up a payment plan, however the judge denied the offer. The publicist says Kelly was “deflated” by the refusal.

On top of that, he’s facing new horrific charges. Another woman– now 30– is claiming that R. Kelly sexually assaulted her in a hotel when she was just 13.

• A woman, who is now 30, said the singer sexually assaulted her at the hotel when she was just 13 back in 2001.
• She said the sexually abusive relationship lasted for years.
• She said there were other instances at his Atlanta home.
• She said he gave her herpes when she was 17.

Police are investigating.

“We recognize this is involving a celebrity — that makes no difference to us. We understand the heightened publicity on this case — makes no difference. We will still conduct our investigation as necessary, but we need to talk to the victim because right now we just got the information from the Chicago Police Department,” said Detroit Police Chief James Craig.

What a mess.
