Wait. Is THIS Why Jussie Smollett Staged His Own Attack?

Why did Jussie Smollett stage his own attack? The obvious answer? He wanted to draw attention to himself and throw Trump supporters under the bus at the same time. Two birds, one stone.

There was speculation that Smollett only staged the attack because he wanted a pay raise. Show executives, however, say that’s false. They say he never mentioned anything like that. In fact, he was already “in the middle of a long-term contract,” taking in $125,000 per episode.

“Empire” production sources tell TMZ … none of the brass — producers or EPs — heard even a whisper from Jussie grousing he was underpaid. Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said Jussie staged the “attack” to raise his profile and get more per episode.

However, TMZ says that Smollett was stressed out about his new music. He didn’t want his new material to flop like his first album. Hence, this hideous publicity stunt.

We’re told Jussie’s main focus recently was the release of new music. He was upset his first album didn’t do well and was stressed out over the debuts of his new songs and music videos.

Dude. He did this so people would feel bad for him and buy his music, didn’t he?
