Democrats Dial Their Wealth Redistribution Antics Up To 11

The Washington Post is under the impression that Republicans are hell-bent on “casting Democrats as scary and radical.”

Yeah, no. We’re not forcing liberals to push late-term abortions, “assault” weapons bans and Medicare for all. They’re willingly doing that.

Speaking of radical ideas, try this on for size.

Anti-Israel Rep. Ilhan Omar is calling for tax increases. She’s not horrified by a 90% marginal tax rate.

“There are a few things that we can do,” Rep. Omar said in an interview with “Through Her Eyes.” “One of them, is that we can increase the taxes that people are paying who are the extremely wealthy in our communities. So, 70 percent, 80 percent, we’ve had it as high as 90 percent. So, that’s a place we can start.”

“The one percent must pay their fair share,” she continued.

I don’t care how much money you make. I don’t care if it’s 90% on everything after $100 million. That’s criminal. No one should EVER have to give that kind of percentage.

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders has introduced a new plan to increase estate taxes. How does a 77% rate sound to you?

The fairest way to reduce wealth inequality, invest in the disappearing middle class and preserve our democracy is to enact a progressive estate tax on the inherited wealth of multi-millionaires and billionaires.

Our bill only applies to the richest 0.2% of Americans. It would establish a:

-45% tax on estate values $3.5M to $10M
-50% tax on estate values $10M to $50M
-55% tax on estate values over $50M
-77% tax on estate values over $1 billion

Incredibly, Republican leaders in the Senate have introduced a bill to repeal the estate tax for the richest 1,700 families in America. That's absurd.

From a moral, economic and political perspective our nation will not thrive when so few have so much and so many have so little.
