Virginia Democrat Kathy Tran recently introduced a bill that would allow abortions up to 40 weeks. Her bill would essentially eliminate all existing restrictions on abortion. Having second thoughts while you’re in labor? Not a problem.
Heartbreaking… This isn’t in New York, this isn’t in California, this happened just this week right here in Virginia. @VAHouseDems proposed legislation to provide abortions up to just seconds before that precious child takes their first breath. Watch for yourself. pic.twitter.com/AxgPVyI6kU

It doesn’t get much more SHAMELESSLY vile than that.
Good news, though. The bill has been defeated.
UPDATE 1/30/19: Virginia’s Repeal Act will not move forward. Live Action News reached out to Rep. C. Todd Gilbert’s office who said the bill will not leave the subcommittee and no action will be taken on it. The Washington Free Beacon, the Repeal Act “when put to a vote… was defeated” and The Daily Progress reports that it was killed. The Washington Times and other sources are reporting that the bill has been tabled or suspended. Nearly half of the Democratic caucus supported it, despite the fact that it allowed for the abortion of viable babies even if the mother was in active labor.
I’m glad to hear the bill is dead, but we’re still not in the clear. The fact of the matter remains: There are people out there who support evil bills like this. It may have been defeated this time around, but liberals will continue to push it. After all, abortion is one of the holy sacraments of liberalism.
