YOU GUYS – did you catch this on Fox and Friends this morning? JUST LISTEN to the difference in the way the MSM covered Pelosi’s SOTU stunt versus how they covered Trump’s counter move yesterday. JUST LISTEN. It should start right at the right point if you play below:
I MEAN CAN YOU EVEN.
About Pelosi:
“Pelosi’s playing hardball.”
“Pelosi’s flexing her muscles.”
“Bold powerplay.”
“She’s got a PhD in needling President Trump.”
“A move of exceptional cleverness.”
“Political genius.”
“She was showing that she’s in charge.”
“What a badass.”
And then, when Trump cancels her trip yesterday? The media’s reaction was STARKLY DIFFERENT.
“President has responded in a childish way.”
“Classic example of Trump overreacting.”
“Tactically inept, strategically nitwitted.”
“Only phrase that comes to mind is nanny nanny boo boo.”
How much more blatant can they be?
Listen – I’m not gonna lie – I enjoyed the hell out of yesterday afternoon. It was like the juiciest reality TV on steroids, and I was gleeing out about it all over the place. It’s not that I don’t recognize that we’re in a horrible, craptacular position as a country, more divided than ever, with no end to this shutdown in sight. It’s not that I don’t realize that the people in charge are absolute toddlers on all sides. I realize these things. I do.
But yesterday, I was reminded of why Trump was elected. People were ready for someone to not be a doormat. They were ready for someone to fight back and fight back HARD. They were ready for someone to lead from a position of strength, not weakness and caving.
It’s like our Producer Rob always says – “America elects the people we deserve.” That cuts in good and bad ways, obviously. And right now, we’re all caught in the middle of the most ridiculous game of chicken EVER. It’s not good for our country. It’s not good for anyone.
But I enjoyed yesterday in spite of it all.
There was no reason for Nancy & Co to be leaving on a 7-day trip – no matter how much libs want to spin that it was for “national security.” B*tches, please. It was nothing that couldn’t be postponed, and it’s RIGHT that it was postponed. She needs to get back to the negotiation table where she belongs.
