This was– key word, was– the most “liked” photo on Instagram. It’s Stormi holding Kylie Jenner’s finger.
It has over 18 million likes. I mean, it’s cute, but 18 million likes cute? Idunno. Guess so.
It’s been the MOST LIKED picture on Instagram. That is, until now. It has been dethroned BY AN EGG.
HOLY CRAP IT WORKED. This plain ol’ egg now has over 45 million likes, which just goes to show that we can do ANYTHING if we put our minds to it. We The People unseated Kylie on the ‘gram.
It’s so pointless but so amusing. The egg’s Insta page is titled “World Record Egg” and has 7 million followers. And yep– it’s just that one post. There’s nothing else.
BuzzFeed News reached out to the mysterious egg account, and the account holder replied that it was actually being run by “Henrietta” — a chicken from the British countryside. Henrietta declined a phone interview, but agreed to answer questions via email.
“Eugene is my egg,” Henrietta the Chicken told BuzzFeed News. She said she thought the egg had really taken off, because “the power of the egg is strong.”
Henrietta said she decided to start the after “I stopped drinking for Dry January,” and said she was home last Friday night when she “read an article regarding the top 20 posts on insta, Kylie Jenner topped it with 18m.”
“I saw this as a challenge to beat it,” the Instagram creator wrote. “It was nothing personal.”
Anyway, I just needed you to know that an egg is the most liked photo on Instagram. Carry on.
