Bill De Blasio Proudly Unveils Universal Health Care Program For NYC, Includes Coverage For Illegals

Oh, New York City. I pity you. I truly, truly do.

NYC’s mental giant of a mayor, Bill de Blasio, decided unveil his plans for a universal health care program the city. It’ll even cover illegals.

The new program, NYC Care, will guarantee health care for the estimated 600,000 New Yorkers who do not currently have health insurance, according to the mayor’s office. Undocumented immigrants will also be included in the plan.

Congrats, NYC taxpayers! You’ll be providing “free” health care for illegal immigrants! Go you! The rest of the country clearly needs to get on your compassion level.

In a press conference at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx on Tuesday, de Blasio said NYC Care will give New York City “the most comprehensive health system in the nation” when it is fully implemented.

“We recognized that obviously health care is not just in theory a right,” de Blasio said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” ahead of the official announcement. “We have to make it in practice a right.”

The mayor said the plan would encompass primary and specialty care as well as maternity and pediatric care and mental health services.

“We also have a way to provide direct health care to a lot of our neighbors who happen to be undocumented,” de Blasio said. “They’re still part of our community. They need health care; their families need health care.”

That is so messed up. There are a ton of AMERICAN CITIZENS who can’t afford health insurance, thanks to big government. And PLEASE spare me from the whole “we need to care for everyone” crap. ANYONE can go into an emergency room and be treated for whatever emergency they’re facing. Don’t give me that.

“Health care is a human right. In this city we are going to make that a reality,” he stressed.

For the record, this will cost the city $100 million per year.
