Ugh. Here we go. More Michael Cohen drama. Just how we wanted to close the year out, amirite?
According to that sourcelink, cell phone records show that Cohen was near Prague in the summer of 2016, which supposedly confirms a nugget of info found in the generally bogus anti-Trump dossier.
A mobile phone traced to President Donald Trump’s former lawyer and “fixer” Michael Cohen briefly sent signals ricocheting off cell towers in the Prague area in late summer 2016, at the height of the presidential campaign, leaving an electronic record to support claims that Cohen met secretly there with Russian officials, four people with knowledge of the matter say.
During the same period of late August or early September, electronic eavesdropping by an Eastern European intelligence agency picked up a conversation among Russians, one of whom remarked that Cohen was in Prague, two people familiar with the incident said.
The phone and surveillance data, which have not previously been disclosed, lend new credence to a key part of a former British spy’s dossier of Kremlin intelligence describing purported coordination between Trump’s campaign and Russia’s election meddling operation.
It’s one of those things where some claims could be remotely true while others are utterly absurd #FakeNews. (Like the golden shower stuff.) So no. This doesn’t give the dossier legitimacy. Even NY Mag accidentally admitted this.
In 2016, British investigator Christopher Steele collected a dossier of unverified intelligence tips related to Donald Trump’s secret connections with Russia. Nobody outside (and, for all we know, inside) the Mueller investigation knows exactly how many of his allegations are true. It would be surprising if all of them were, and Steele himself has estimated that roughly 70–90 percent of the claims are correct.
Reactions are all over the place.
Hi @McClatchyDC, serious question here
If Mueller has evidence Cohen was in Prague, why isn't he prosecuting Cohen for lying to the Senate about it?
He was charged with lying to the Senate about Trump Tower Moscow

McClatchy upped its story of Cohen/Prague. He said to the Senate he was not there. Mueller could have had him plead guilty on lying about this; not just Moscow Tower. Cohen lied in his plea on FEC stuff to “implicate” Trump. Would be a better sell for him to say he was in Prague.

This was written by same 2 reporters who "broke" the news last April that Mueller had info on Cohen in Prague. Literally no one has been able to corroborate that April report, which many journos swallowed whole. As with all Russian conspiracy theories, I'll await actual evidence. https://t.co/ziSbBtVoYL

Micheal Cohen confirmed in Prague in late summer 2016, as Chris Steele’s dossier alleged and as Cohen has previously denied. Why did Cohen attempt to conceal this trip? Perhaps because the dossier was also correct about him conspiring with Russians there. https://t.co/AklqoNpCNx

The hallmark of this & other FusionGPS info op campaigns is they're difficult to disprove. But you might remember Cohen recently pled guilty to lying to Congress about a Russia topic. He was not charged with anything about Prague and continues to claim he's never been. FWIW.

This aged badly. News report out today by McClatchy puts your cellphone pings in Prague. Oops. #COLLUSION https://t.co/yuCMResl4A

To be continued FOR SURE.
