This gives me a case of the heebie-jeebies.
The Financial Times has named George Soros as the “Person of the Year.” Yes. The same George Soros who essentially gives loads of cash to idiotic protesters so they can harass conservative women. They’re calling him a “standard bearer of liberal democracy and open society.”
Listen to the way the Times describes him. It makes me physically nauseous.
He is the standard bearer of liberal democracy and open society. These are the ideas which triumphed in the cold war. Today, they are under siege from all sides, from Vladimir Putin’s Russia to Donald Trump’s America.
For more than three decades, Mr Soros has used philanthropy to battle against authoritarianism, racism and intolerance. Through his long commitment to openness, media freedom and human rights, he has attracted the wrath of authoritarian regimes and, increasingly, the national populists who continue to gain ground, particularly in Europe.
How blind can you be?
The Financial Times newspaper selects George Soros as person of the year because of “the values he represents”. Of course this is completely insane and reflects the worst of the media. Please read my Message of the Day on https://t.co/rryWmyXe7C—https://t.co/O1KSv28Cvl

The Financial Times newspaper has chosen George Soros as the person of the year because of the “values he represents. Ummm, let’s see. Those values might include trying to destroy persons with whom he disagrees (hello Fox News commentators), funding operations that want open borders so any person could enter the USA, and manipulating currencies for profit.
Quite a resume, quite a guy.
I’ll say.
