Elizabeth Warren’s 2020 chances are looking about as good as Santa Claus’ right now.
As I mentioned earlier, the New York Times just published a scorching article in which anonymous current and former advisers of hers reveal that it was a big, big, BIG mistake:
Elizabeth Warren Stands by DNA Test. But Around Her, Worries Abound. https://t.co/6eCwhUXh5n
— NYT Politics (@nytpolitics) December 6, 2018
How damaging was the E Warren/DNA test? Very.
“Several outside advisers are even more worried: They say they believe a plan should be made to repair that damage, possibly including a strong statement of apology.” https://t.co/W2knyXTYeG

One account from a former adviser called the entire debacle a “strategic failure” which was “depressing and unforgettable.”
Elizabeth Warren is still trying to clean up the mess she created with that DNA test. So far, it’s not working. From NYT: https://t.co/B3g2lQbNth pic.twitter.com/JEIbpw1AuE

Well, her day just got A LOT worse.
The Boston Globe, once a huge supporter of hers, is turning against her, too:
Yeeks: The Boston Globe Ed Board, which called on Elizabeth Warren to run for president in 2016, suggests she pass this time.
“She has become a divisive figure. A unifying voice is what the country needs now after the polarizing politics of Trump.” https://t.co/NwkSaAIBkG

There’s really no coming back from this, is there?
A harsh assessment of @SenWarren by the editorial board of her hometown paper, The Boston Globe. https://t.co/oCRpWv70vj pic.twitter.com/vXz6TKFu3n

No. No, there’s not.
No matter the argument here, it’s striking that a paper whose journalism has flourished when MA candidates have run for prez (Kerry in ’04, Romney in ’08 and ’12) is imploring one its own *not* to run.

OOOH. I didn’t even THINK of that. But he’s totally right.
But of course, this is just puuuure misogyny. Right?
The argument is dripping with sexism.

The Globe’s garbage editorial is brazenly, flagrantly sexist — and not even trying to hide it. “Polarizing” and “divisive” are the go-to terms used to attack any powerful and opinionated woman.
— First Person Politics (@firstpersonpol) December 6, 2018
What’s the point of this editorial? Let her run and make her case. I’m not pro-Warren but this feels.. not right.
— Daphna (@daphna27) December 6, 2018
Why tear her down now?

And because the Boston Globe, like the NYT, just haaates Democrats, apparently:
The press constantly gaslights Democrats. Always have to keep them from upsetting Republicans or mythical swing voters offended by being too strong to the left. Republicans are never similarly chided about being too strong to the right.
— Eric Reese (@reeseer1) December 6, 2018
Funny how Dems have to work to unite the country and fix the problems, while Reps get to be divisive and break things. Also, amazing how effective GOP messaging has been, they're disqualifying Dem candidates before the campaign even begins!
— Ken Farinsky (@kfarinsky) December 6, 2018
She's "divisive" because Trump has attacked her and turned his minions on her. Same with most women he comes in contact with. Shame on the @BostonGlobe for playing Trump's game.
— Shandy (@Shandy556) December 6, 2018
Yeah… I have an easier time believing the Boston Globe is doing this because THEY ACTUALLY WANT A DEMOCRAT TO WIN.
