Carl Bernstein Wants The Media To Censor Trump

What Americans love about our President is the fact that he speaks directly to us.

He tells it like he is. He doesn’t sugar coat it… and he calls people OUT.

Once respected journalist Carl Bernstein thinks the media should put an end to that.

According to Daily Wire:

Famed Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein doesn’t think the media have enough control over President Trump, so he’s offering a radical idea: Don’t broadcast his press conferences live.

That way, Bernstein says, the media can decide “what is news,” and edit everything else out.

“We need to start thinking of a different way to cover his press conferences and briefings,” Bernstein said on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday.

I’m sorry, WHAT?!

He thinks the media should decide what Trump gets to say to the American people?

Yeah. I don’t think so.

“I don’t think we should be taking them live all the time and just pasting them up on the air because they’re basically propagandist exercises because they are overwhelmed by his dishonesty and lying. … Maybe we should be there, edit, decide as reporters what is news, and after the press conference or briefing is over then go with that story with clips rather than treating the briefing or press conference as a campaign event, which they really are,” he said.

And they wonder why we say they’re biased.

Can you imagine a journalist saying the media shouldn’t allow OBAMA to speak on TV?

Bernstein said news sites could still post the complete unedited version of the press conference or briefing, but should simply stop giving Trump “free” airtime.

“But we need to start editing. We need to say, ‘Here’s the story,’ not just give him a microphone when we know that his methodology is to engage and manipulate us on the basis of lying, propaganda and agitprop,” Bernstein said.

“We need to start editing” = we need to start censoring the President.

As Daily Wire points out… It’s pretty rich of Woodward to think the media should “decide” what people get to see.

Why?

Well… because he’s a #FAKENEWS culprit himself.

Bernstein, who along with Bob Woodward broke the Watergate story, doesn’t get much right anymore. Case in point: Bernstein said before the midterm elections that Trump is hatching a nefarious plot to challenge the results if Democrats won control of the House or the Senate.

The journalist made the claim on CNN, saying he has sources that tell him Trump has mentioned running a chaos campaign if Republicans lost in November.

“I talked to people … in touch with the White House on Friday who believe that, if the congressional midterms are very close and the Democrats were to win by five or seven seats, that Trump is already talking about how to throw legal challenges into the courts, sow confusion, declare a victory actually, and say that the election’s been illegitimate,” Bernstein said.

“That is really under discussion in the White House,” he said.

Well, wrong again.

In August, Trump hit CNN and Bernstein for an erroneous report that he knew in advance of a June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between several people connected to Trump and a Russian lawyer. The story, written in part by the former Washington Post reporter, used anonymous sources, but Lanny Davis, attorney for Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen, later came out to refute the CNN piece (for which he was reportedly the main source).

But PLEASE… “edit” our President, why don’t you?
