Walmart Under Fire For ‘Controversial’ Christmas Decoration

It’s almost time to decorate for Christmas! Granted, I don’t think it’s too early to start now, BUUUUUUUUUT anything post-Thanksgiving seems like a universally accepted time to get your Christmas on.

I will be making a Hobby Lobby trip next week. You can count on that. I’m in dire need of plastic trees and dozens of mini Santas.

I’m big on decorating. Ask anyone. Heck, even my dad gets a little festive. Every year, he hangs up Christmas-colored shotgun shell lights we snagged at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. They’re AWESOME. I thought they were a pretty unique find (and at the time they were), but now it seems Walmart is selling them, and it’s making them the talk of the town…and not in a good way.

People are mad. Some life-ruiners are trying to say that the festive lights promote gun violence. *insert eyeroll here*

Some people are boycotting the company… others think the lights are fine, and have shown interest in buying them.

If you associate shotgun lights with violence, that sounds like a personal problem. It’s totally baseless. You know what Christmas decoration can be ACTUALLY dangerous? Dry Christmas trees. If one of those catches fire, it will probably BURN your house down. Those babies BUUUUURN.

I thought this line of the report was rather interesting.

News4Jax found that Walmart offerers different types of gun-related holiday lights. All say they are out of stock.

Are they out of stock because people love them THAT much, or are they out of stock because Walmart is operated by a bunch of weenies who decided to try to appease the life-ruiners of the world by pulling them?
