YOU GUYS. Hopefully you already saw the earlier post about Senator Joe Donnelly’s cringe-y moment during his debate with Mike Braun. If you didn’t, you’re gonna get to hear it in this clip from our radio show earlier today. We check Twitter in real time while we’re on the air every day, and we ended up getting a tweet from someone who sort of kind of defended him (I think). And it may or may not have been ISIS.
Just listen.
Did you catch Producer Rob howling in the background?
This is the hilarity you’re missing if you don’t tune into our show. FYI. Subscribe to the podcast on itunes. You won’t regret it!
Meanwhile, you should know that Joe Donnelly has tried to explain away his debate moment, and I don’t know that it really helps. Here’s what he said:
“I misspoke. I meant to say ‘and’ instead of ‘but.’ That would have communicated what I have tried to do my entire life: that I make a habit to seek out and promote people of color for both my campaign and official staff. Let’s talk about substance. Last night, my opponent claimed he didn’t back a lawsuit to undermine pre-existing conditions when, in fact, he’s been vocal in his support of it since this summer. Even the voters born at night weren’t born last night, and Hoosiers can tell who’s going to stand up for them.”
Yeah. Deflecting isn’t gonna help, Joe. You revealed yourself in that moment. To us, to other Hoosiers, and possibly to ISIS. 🙂
