All-Clear Issued At UCF After Halloween Costume Scares The Crap Outta Everyone

Police responded to reports of a “suspicious person” at the University of Central Florida.

UCFPD is responding to Classroom I in reference to a call about a suspicious person. There is extra police presence in the area.

If you see something, say something. Call 911 immediately.

Well… we have more information. It was a maybe-not-the-best-idea Halloween costume.

UCFPD responded to Classroom I about a suspicious person. Upon contact, we found that the person was wearing a Halloween costume that included real ammunition.
He was detained & is being interviewed.

There is no threat to campus safety. Campus operations are normal.

Ok… So I don’t think this kid is evil or anything.

BUT.

Given our current climate… this just wasn’t a good idea on a college campus. I mean… I throw a side eye at kids who wear trench coats at large public events at this point. You just have to be aware of your surroundings  – and that triggers my “keep an eye on this one” flags.
