Chelsea Manning shared the following on Twitter on Saturday afternoon:
after almost a decade of fighting – thru prison, the courts, a hunger strike, and thru the insurance company – I finally got surgery this week ✨🎀💉🏥✨🌈💕 pic.twitter.com/I7WeIrR8jP

Well… ok. I honestly don’t really have much to say about it. I’ve written about Chelsea Manning before.
Here’s the thing. I truly believe that transgenderism is a very serious mental health issue. Being transgendered is a sad, debilitating disease. An enormous percentage of trangendered folks attempt to commit suicide – many succeed. This is true of both people who “transition” and people who don’t.
I believe in compassionate care, and trying to find a way for these people to learn to accept themselves and feel comfortable in their own bodies. Our current society pushes enabling of a debilitating mental disease and ultimately self-mutilation. Is that helping?
Chelsea Manning’s body has now been mutilated in the name of progress.
I despise Chelsea Manning’s politics, and TREASON… I don’t despise Chelsea Manning’s mental health issues. I pity them.
