The Boston Globe Corrects Its Correction On Elizabeth Warren’s DNA Results

Earlier today, the Boston Globe had to issue a correction on its article about Elizabeth Warren’s Indian heritage (or lack thereof, let’s be honest here).

HAHAHAHAHA.

Well folks, they’ve just issued another one. A correction to the correction, if you will. The original correction read:

Correction: Due to a math error, a story about Elizabeth Warren misstated the ancestry percentage of a potential 10th generation relative. It should be 1/1,024.

Here’s the updated correction:

Correction: Due to a math error, a story about Elizabeth Warren misstated the ancestry percentage of a potential 6th to 10th generation relative. The generational range based on the ancestor that the report identified suggests she’s between 1/64th and 1/1,024th Native American.

So now, at BEST, she’s 1/64th. That’s the best case scenario.

Even if you use the Globe’s half-correct numbers, this puts Warren  between .09 and 1.6 percent Native American, when, according to the New York Times, “researchers found that European-Americans had genomes that were on average 98.6 percent European, .19 percent African, and .18 Native American.”

LOLOLOLOLOL.
