If you thought SNL’s cold open was bad, you’re….absolutely right. It was a nasty display of full blown character assassination. But the weekend update? In some ways, it was worse. I watched the clip this morning and couldn’t get over the smug demeanor of Colin Jost and Michael Che. They delight in ruining an innocent man’s life. Because he’s been accused, he’s guilty. That’s how this works now. It’s funny to laugh at a man who’s been falsely accused of sexual assault.
At this point, it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that SNL is in the business of mocking victims. Brett Kavanaugh is a victim here.
Do they care? Nope. Kavanaugh is a pig, and Republicans are women-haters. That’s the narrative, and they’re sticking to it.
“Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Dr. Christine Blasey Ford appeared Thursday in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee and it was a classic case of ‘she said, he yelled,” Jost said. “Based on his testimony, I guess Kavanagh thought the hearing was about whether he thought he was cool in high school.”
“I gotta say, you’re not really helping yourself in a drunken assault case when you talk about how much you like drinking and how strong you were at the time,” he continued.
“Pretty much the only ones who kept their composure the whole time were the woman being questioned and the woman Republicans had to hire to talk to the woman being questioned. Now on an optics level, I get why Republicans did that. But if you’re not the right person to ask questions at a Senate hearing, maybe you’re not the right person to be a senator,” he added.
“I get why Republicans did that….” but also no you don’t? Stop contradicting yourself. White Republican men shouldn’t be senators because they’re white men? That’s ridiculous.
Che eventually jumped into the mix and mocked Kavanaugh’s righteous anger.
“I just wanna remind everyone that all this yelling and crying happened at the dude’s job interview! I mean, typically, when you’re asked about a sexual assault and your drinking problem at a job interview, you don’t get the damn job!” Che said.
This is FULL BLOWN CHARACTER ASSASSINATION at the HIGHEST level. A man is ALLOWED TO HAVE FEELINGS about that. GAWD. God forbid that happened to YOU, Che. You’d be totally calm and cool if your political opponents attempted to convince the nation you’re a gang rapist? You’d be SUPER calm and happy and joyous and handle it with levity? I highly freaking doubt that.
Che also said he doesn’t actually know if Kavanaugh sexually assaulted anyone or if he has a drinking problem, but it doesn’t matter because LOLZ maybe he did! That alone disqualifies him.
“He might. You probably shouldn’t be on the Supreme Court if you might. You shouldn’t be on ‘People’s Court’ if you might!” he said.
Then Che dropped this line, which proved absolutely EVERYTHING we’ve been saying from the beginning. This all comes back to the left’s commitment to killing babies.
“Why does it have to be him? You can’t just pick another dude from your Illuminati lizard meetings?” Che asked. “Are Republicans so pro-life that you don’t even have a Plan B for this?”
I don’t usually swear, but when I heard that, I actually said, “What a son of a b*tch” to myself.
I’m so fed up with these people, and I think America is too. November, November…
