They got what they wanted.
As I mentioned just a while ago, the Senate Judiciary Committee recommended an FBI investigation…
You know. Because of Flake.
But it wouldn’t actually HAPPEN unless Trump called for it.
Guess what.

It’s happening.
Trump HAD mentioned ealier it was up to them:
“Whatever they think is necessary is OK,” President Trump says of a potential delay to the Senate vote on Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to the US Supreme Court. pic.twitter.com/Qq8vfGaNwX

And he stuck to what he said. The Senate Judiciary Committee called for an investigation, and he signed off on it.
Though… it’s not ENTIRELY clear yet which allegations they’ll investigate:
Also, per Flake and Cruz, it will be up to the FBI what the “credible” allegations they’ll look into are.

Though I’m almost CERTAIN they’ll concoct a few more before this is all over.
UPDATE:
Statement from President @realDonaldTrump:
“I’ve ordered the FBI to conduct a supplemental investigation to update Judge Kavanaugh’s file. As the Senate has requested, this update must be limited in scope and completed in less than one week.”— Sarah Sanders (@PressSec) September 28, 2018
