The Female Monday Night Football Announcer Is Driving Everyone Nuts

Alright guys. This might be controversial, but I don’t care. I started watching Monday Night Football game– the Jets vs. Lions– and there was something different about it tonight. What is that, you ask?

There was a female announcer. I think it’s Beth Mowins.

I know I’m supposed to like it because WOMAN POWER and FEMALES and FIGHT THE PATRIARCHY, but I HATE HER VOICE. I really can’t stand the sound of chicks commentating an NFL game. I feel like I’m being nagged. Now, this woman actually has a lower voice, but it’s not low enough to not be totally irritating. I like low male voices commentating during football.

Before you feminists try to tell me that I’m just a self-loathing jerk, please know that a whole bunch of people on Twitter agree with me.

I have no problem with female commentators and I would even encourage it if she was great. But this one for Jets vs Lions is terrible

I truly believe in equal opportunity for everyone when jobs are involved but having to listen to a female play by play commentator during a prime time NFL game somehow crosses the line. #OldSchool I guess.
