Well… this is sad.
Living LEGEND (yes, I’m a fan, ok?) Olivia Newton-John revealed heartbreaking news last night.
She has cancer… for the THIRD time.
According to Daily Caller:
“I’m one of millions in this fight … I shouldn’t say fight, in this journey,” Newton-John shared, revealing that this time the tumor is located at the base of her spine, according to ABC News. “A lot of people see it as a fight. Wherever you choose to see it that’s your prerogative.”
She says she’s treating it “naturally.”

Interestingly… this segment is getting a lot of negative feedback:
I want her to do well but OMG! @GMA @RobinRoberts @DrJAshton All of you should know better. If the cancer has spread to her bones it has metastasized from the primary site. There is no cure and it is not chronic.

Clearly/ we try to be respectful when discussing an individual person and therefore speak in general terms👍🏼

But you are being misleading. It is possible to not be specific about ONJ and still be honest about what is happening. Metastatic breast cancer isn’t something to be ashamed of and it should never be called chronic.

We r not misleading- i take a specific story about ONE person and broaden it to be relevant to MILLIONS.. so our segment was not about metastatic breast cancer at all. It was really about the angle of medical marijuana and multiple cancers vs recurrence/ metastasis.👍🏼

You are arguing with someone who is honest about their own diagnosis and is working to educate others. Disgraceful. This is a missed opportunity. Why don’t you do a segment on MBC??

It isn’t easy to be honest about #metastaticBC because it scares & saddens others. You know this @catbrennan

Wow…
I honestly don’t know enough about this to weigh in either way… but obviously, people feel very strongly about it.
Olivia spoke about what she’s doing to manage symptoms:
“A lot of cannabis, my husband grows for me,” Newton-John said. “They help with pain, they help with sleep.”
When asked if she is scared, the singer explained that she “doesn’t go there.”
“No, I don’t go there. I’d be lying if I said I never go there,” she added. “There are moments, I’m human. If I allowed myself to go there, I could easily create that big fear. But my husband’s always there, and he’s there to support me.”
She continued, “I believe I will win over it. That’s my goal.”
During the interview, the singer also revealed for the first time that she had been diagnosed in 2013 with shoulder cancer. She first went public in 1992 about her breast cancer battle.
“The first time I talked about it, and the second time I thought I didn’t really need to share this, it’s not something I need to share with people,” the “Xanadu” star explained. “It’s my life and I decided to keep it to myself.”
I get it. Cancer is a very difficult and personal battle.
Wishing her all the very best.
