Report: White House Narrows The Potential Author Of The Anonymous Op-Ed

President Trump wants to get to the bottom of who authored the anonymous op-ed. John Kelly has advised him to let it go, but Trump is determined to get to the bottom of it. I can’t say that I blame him. I don’t necessarily think this is one of those petty things. It’s a big deal to have a sniveling traitor in your midst.

It sounds like the White House is narrowing it down. A source “close to the White House” told CNN that they’ve narrowed it down to “a few individuals.” Kellyanne Conway said they believe the author is part of the national security sector, which is even MORE concerning. You do NOT want someone in the national security sector undermining you.

CNN is not aware of the identity of the individuals White House aides have zeroed in on. In an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said Trump believes the individual is someone from the national security sector of the government.

Numerous officials have denied authoring the piece, including James Mattis, Mike Pompeo,  Dan Coats and of course, Mike Pence. In fact, Pence said he’d take a lie detector test to prove he didn’t write it.

“I would agree to take it in a heartbeat and would submit to any review the administration wanted to do,” Pence said.

“If they are that senior administration official — they’re violating an oath, not to the president, but to the Constitution,” Pence said, adding that President Trump was concerned about the national security implications of the situation as well. “Look, it’s un-American. And I think that’s why you’ve seen Republicans and Democrats condemn this.”

Pence continued: “To have someone who literally celebrates coming in every day to frustrate the agenda that the president and I were elected to advance — it really is an assault on our democracy. And it should be universally condemned.”

It’s only a matter of time before we find out who the author is. Any guesses?
