I think the gubernatorial race in Florida is going to be a lot closer than I thought, which is ridiculous because conservative Ron DeSantis is running against a socialist nutjob, Andrew Gillum. I know Florida tends to be a purple state, but COME ON, Floridians. Say no to socialism. We don’t want want to touch that with a 40 foot pole.
Those results freak me out beyond belief, because we’re talking about a guy who’s running on “free” health care for all, the abolishment of ICE and the impeachment of Trump.
Please come to your senses, Florida. PLEASE. I mean, this guy in living in an alternate universe. He thinks he’s going to pay for all the “free” stuff by increasing taxes on corporations, which sounds like sound economic policy. NOT.
Gillum was pressed on CNN’s “State of the Union” about his pledge to provide medical care for everyone in his state, including how he would pay for it.
“I don’t buy that,” Gillum said when asked if higher taxes are a prerequisite of Medicare for all. “I will absolutely not raise taxes on everyday working Floridians.”
Except yes he will. No matter what he does, the cost gets passed on to us, the consumers. How does he not realize that?
Gillum stressed that such a plan would require Florida to team up with other states to form a coalition to negotiate pricing and coverage.
“The state of Florida could not take this road by itself,” Gillum added.
I would just like to take this moment to remind everyone that Bernie Sanders’ “Medicare For All” plan– which is an ultimate goal for these people– would cost an estimated $32.6 trillion over 10 years.
PS– Gillum thinks Trump turned ICE into a “deportation and family separation force.”

Do better, Florida. DO BETTER.
