Oh Nike. Noooooo. This was a garbage move.
For reasons completely beyond me, Nike thought it was a good idea to make disgraced ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick the face of its 30th anniversary of the “Just Do It” campaign.

Yep. Sure. Pick a guy who’s only relevant because he decided to be a pr*ck and disrespect men and women who serve our country by kneeling during the national anthem. Great idea guys. Really.
Your career was going down the tubes anyway, dude.
Just to remind you what a disrespectful punk he is, check out what he said about kneeling two years ago.
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” he told NFL Media’s Steve Wyche. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”
He literally said the United States of America OPPRESSES black people. Meanwhile, he and a TON of other black dudes are making MILLIONS doing what they love in the NFL. And we– the RACIST people of America– watch them play with glee, even though we’re oppressive raging racists.
Makes sense.
Don’t even get me STARTED on his cop-hating rhetoric. It makes me sick. They’re straight up glorifying a guy who wore “Cops as Pigs” socks. He’s a disrespectful loser with no fundamental understanding of the issues.
This response is legit cracking me up, because it just goes to show that there’s no use in trying to pander to SJWs. They’re never satisfied.
I like @Kaepernick7 and what he’s about. But that doesn’t mean @nike gets an invite to the cookout for this recent ad campaign.
Nike is doing what capitalists do: commodify pain & suffering for $.
We can’t purchase our way to woke or out of white guilt.

.@nike dissolve all sweatshops, provide reparations to child laborers and their families in developing countries with housing, healthcare, food access and school fees. Demand that retailers of your brand pay workers in the U.S. at least $15/hour and then maybe we’ll believe you.

But seriously Nike. This move is garbage. The fact that Kathy Griffin loves it says it all.
YES!!! So happy about this @Nike @Kaepernick7 https://t.co/vOBbqccA1P

Nike has made Colin Kaepernick the face of its new “Just Do It” campaign.
With the NFL season starting Thursday, Nike’s decision seems incredibly stupid.

You know they timed it that way on purpose. Maybe they picked him because they WANTED to stir up controversy. They WANT people talking about them.
I don’t know. Either way, I disapprove. That man doesn’t deserve to be glorified.
Kaepernick had opportunities to keep playing in the NFL, and he turned them all down.
He didn’t sacrifice anything. He chose to give up football in order to be a social justice warrior, and Nike rewarded his behavior. Absolutely pathetic. https://t.co/h4xDFhBD6Z

Couldn’t say it better myself.
