Before I get started, let me make one thing clear: I believe a private employer should have WHATEVER DRESS CODE THEY WANT.
If an employer wants all of their servers to dress like skanks *cough* Hooters *cough* that’s ENTIRELY their prerogative.
If they want their employees to cover their tatas up… well, that is, too!
Christina Schell doesn’t think so. She thinks having to cover up her sweater pups is a violation of human rights.
Yes, really.
THIS is why no one takes modern-day feminism seriously, ladies.
According to Daily Mail:
An Alberta woman has filed a human rights complaint against her employer after she was told she had to wear a bra to work.
Like… f’real. This is happening.
Christina Schell was fired after refusing to comply with an updated dress code, which meant she had to wear a bra or an undershirt while she worked outdoors serving tables.
THE HORROR.
She told CBC when she confronted the general manager of the Osoyoos Golf Club, Doug Robb, she was told the rule was to protect her from members.
Schell claims he told her: ‘I know what happens in golf clubs when alcohol’s involved’.
It makes sense to me. The Gold Club manager is trying to run a classy joint.
And it’s not like she had some kind on injury or something that made her unable to wear a bra… she just doesn’t like them.
The 25-year-old said she stopped wearing bras about two years ago, because she found them ‘horrible’.
I doubt most service workers LOVE their uniforms, Christina.
They’re not suing for human rights violations…
Schell said she chose to use the human rights act to complain as she noticed men did not have the same amount of restrictions surrounding how they dressed.
‘It’s gender-based and that’s why it’s a human rights issue,’ she said.
Well um, men don’t have boobs… soooo…. THERE’S THAT.
ANYWAY… this is what feminism has come to. I wonder what the suffragettes would think.
(They’d tell her to STFU wear the damn bra. That’s what.)
