Harvey Weinstein Wants Ashley Judd’s Lawsuit Dismissed

Earlier this year, Ashley Judd sued Harvey Weinstein for “ruining her career.” As Mockarena wrote at the time:

She filed the suit earlier today in the LA Superior Court, and specifically points out that Peter Jackson, director of Lord of the Rings, said he didn’t hire her for movies of his because Weinstein told him she was difficult. Until Peter Jackson spoke out, Ashley claims that she was unaware that “something unseen was holding her back from obtaining the work she wanted, and had been doing so for decades.”

“Weinstein’s wrongful and outrageous conduct has not just deprived Ms. Judd of the specific opportunity to play a prominent role in a blockbuster film trilogy; it has had a long-lasting ripple effect on her whole career,” the lawsuit stated. No person — in whatever job, in whatever industry — should have to forfeit professional aspirations and the right to earn a living to the abusive whims of the powerful.”

We all smelled quite a bit of BS after that, just because there were other notable people- like Angelina Jolie– who thought Weinstein was nasty and gross and vowed to never work for him. Jolie turned out just fine. I’d also like to point out that Judd participated in two Weinstein movies after the hotel room incident so…awk.

But you know how Judd is about playing the victim.

Now, Weinstein is trying to get her lawsuit dismissed altogether. He says she has no proof.

Weinstein filed docs asking the court to throw out the lawsuit Ashley filed against him earlier this year. In the docs, obtained by TMZ, he says her suit is based on a 2017 article where director Peter Jackson speculated Ashley wasn’t hired for a ‘Lord of the Rings’ role due to Weinstein blackballing her.

In his motion to dismiss, Weinstein says her whole case is based on speculation — Jackson’s and hers — and she has no evidence the alleged blackballing is why she even lost the role. In fact, he says Ashley made no effort, at the time, to find out why she didn’t get the part.

I don’t want to defend either of the creatures involved here. We all know Weinstein is a perv and Judd is an attention-seeking hag. Let them figure it out. They’re both horrific.
