I was floored by the number of lovely tributes to John McCain from BOTH sides of the aisle. It’s not every day that you see personalities on opposite sides of the political spectrum put ideologies aside and honor a person for simply being devoted to his country. Here’s a taste of what I’m talking about:
Our statement on the passing of Senator John McCain: pic.twitter.com/3GBjNYxoj5

RIP Senator McCain. My thoughts and prayers to Cindy, Meghan, and his family. While we did have political differences, I know how much he loved and served his country, and am glad I got to know him and support him in '08

Senator John McCain was an American patriot and hero whose sacrifices for his country, and lifetime of public service, were an inspiration to millions. Canadians join Americans tonight in celebrating his life and mourning his passing.

Tonight we say goodbye to a true hero. A man who never sought accolades. A patriot who fought everyday for American freedom and dignity. A warrior of strength, a patriot of heart, and a man of conviction. There will never be another John McCain. May he rest in peace. pic.twitter.com/B3FjQnDToH

America lost a real hero today. Condolences to @cindymccain, the McCain family and the Arizonans who were so fortunate to have the opportunity to vote for a man of principle. John McCain’s sacrifice and the sacrifices made by all our POWs and MIAs must never be forgotten.

John McCain was an American hero, a man of decency and honor and a friend of mine. He will be missed not just in the U.S. Senate but by all Americans who respect integrity and independence. Jane and I send our deepest condolences to his family.

See what I mean?
Meghan McCain wrote a beautiful tribute to her father…
I love you forever – my beloved father @SenJohnMcCain pic.twitter.com/Y50tVQvlVe
— Meghan McCain (@MeghanMcCain) August 26, 2018
… and it touched so many people, including Sarah Sanders.
There is no way any father could be prouder. Our hearts and prayers are with you. He was a great American. God bless you and your family. https://t.co/JFt7xUs6gW
— Sarah Sanders (@PressSec) August 26, 2018
With the best of Twitter comes the worst. Some gross libs who have a knack for terrible timing decided to let Sarah Sanders know that she is not allowed to honor John McCain and wish his family well. NOT ALLOWED.
No, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, you don't have the right to praise John McCain in one breath and then dishonestly defend Donald Trump in the next breath. Just resign!
John McCain’s final "screw you" to Donald Trump… https://t.co/TmvnPrnJqR
— Palmer Report (@PalmerReport) August 26, 2018
“…you don’t have the right to praise John McCain in one breath and then dishonestly defend Donald Trump in the next breath.” What kind of rule is that? What does one have to do with the other in this instance? Just because someone disagreed with McCain in the past doesn’t mean he or she can’t honor him, acknowledge his devotion to our country and extend sympathies to his grieving loved ones.
We actually at this moment would prefer not to hear from you.

What's so striking about this post is your inability to use Senator McCain's name. I'm listening to so many heartfelt tributes today from both parties, but the words from the White House are empty and devoid of empathy.
— Marcel Henry (@celhenry) August 26, 2018
No one believes your disingenuous tweet, Sarah. Why do you even try? You sold your soul too long ago and at too cheap a price to pretend to be a moral person now….
— Jay Feth (@Jay__Feth) August 26, 2018
Shut your lying, disrespectful mouth. You shame our entire country with your lies and your FAKE attempt at respect. Go to hell.
— Bess Wells (@BooBoo2462) August 26, 2018
There’s something sickening when a churlish, mendacious spokeswomen for a treasonous megalomaniac drips praise and respect from her lying maw for a great, dignified and honorable man like McCain.
— Archangel Michael (@goodfriendmike) August 26, 2018
'
Really? Your "heart aches"?Why are the CHILDREN STILL NOT REUNITED with their parents, Sarah?
— Ido Amir 💎 (@IdoAmir) August 26, 2018
You lying, hypocritical cockeyed behemoth. Your comments are as unwelcome as your boss' condolence note with the tasteless selfie on it.
— Eddie G. (@EddieGEastcoast) August 26, 2018
Sarah is truly disgusting, anti Christian trash
— Jay Pas (@NavyPatriot50) August 26, 2018
Anti-Christian trash? Sarah Sanders? That’s a new one.
@PressSec, you can burn in Hell. pic.twitter.com/Gq3gAuSdrG

The TDS is real. It’s sad that they have to showcase it now, of all times.
