Chuck Schumer To Introduce Resolution To Rename The Russell Senate Office Building After John McCain

I’m still floored by so many of the sweet tributes from people on both sides of the aisle. I mean, look.

John McCain was fiercely devoted to his family, his constituents, and his country. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. As a nation, we all share in the sense of emptiness his passing has left behind.

John McCain was an example of a public policy maker who fought for what he believed in, and had the character & dignity to stand up for what was right — even if he had to oppose some of his colleagues to do so.

OK– Mad Maxine’s really irked me. What a horrific time to bring that up. But you get the idea. Most of them were really sweet. I’m particularly impressed by Chuck Schumer’s. He didn’t only offer words. He also announced his intention to introduce a resolution that would rename the Russell Senate Office Building after John McCain.

As you go through life, you meet few truly great people. John McCain was one of them. His dedication to his country and the military were unsurpassed, and maybe most of all, he was a truth teller – never afraid to speak truth to power in an era where that has become all too rare.

The Russell Senate Office Building is named after this man, Sen Richard Russell (D-GA). Schumer is introducing a resolution to rename the building after McCain. McCain’s office is in Russell. Also home to the Armed Svcs Cmte which McCain chaired pic.twitter.com/vZor5KOaam
