It’s pretty clear that President Trump and AG Jeff Sessions do not have the best relationship.
Trump has spent the better part of Sessions’ time as Attorney General RIPPING ON HIM. He occasionally eases up and plays nice… but it’s looking like he’s back at it.
In an interview recorded Wednesday night but aired this morning, Trump lets Ainsley Earhardt know EXACTLY what he thinks of sessions:
‘What Type Of Man Is THIS?!’he groans.
Watch:
“It’s a very, very sad day,” Trump said during the interview, which was recorded a day after his former campaign manager was found guilty on eight counts of tax and bank fraud and his former attorney pleaded guilty to tax evasion and campaign finance violations.
I’m glad Robert Mueller is now in the business of prosecuting Trump associates for anything and everything he can find on them.
I’m pretty sure that wasn’t his job.
Both convictions were directly tied to special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into alleged Russian collusion by the president’s 2016 election campaign. Instead of uncovering any evidence of collusion, however, the special counsel has been busy finding evidence of fraud.
“Jeff Sessions recused himself, which he shouldn’t have done or he should have told me,” Trump continued, referencing his ongoing beef over the attorney general’s decision to recuse himself from the Russia probe. “Even my enemies say that Jeff Sessions should have told you that he was going to recuse himself and then you wouldn’t have put him in.”
By recusing himself from the Russia investigation, Sessions allowed Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to assign a special counsel… and we all know how that’s going.
“He took the job, and then he said, ‘I’m going to recuse myself,’” Trump added. “I said, ‘What kind of a man is this?’”
WOOF. That’s gotta sting a little.
The president also addressed the refusal by the Justice Department to tackle the confirmed corruption of Democrats such as former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, former FBI Director James Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan, to name just a few.
You know, Trump… instead of complaining bout Sessions all the time, you could just DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Ya know?
If he’s so awful, fire and replace him. Problem solved.
Anyway… there are a lot of interesting tidbits from this interview, including Trump’s assertion that campaign money was NOT used as hush money.
You can read more about that here.
