Jimmy Bennett, the actor who recently accused #MeToo leader Asia Argento of sexual assault, is speaking out for the first time since the bombshell accusations were revealed.
He said the following to the NYT, who first reported is the story:
Jimmy Bennett, the actor who has claimed that he was sexually abused as a teenager by the Italian actress and director Asia Argento and who sought a cash settlement from her, issued his first public statement about the matter on Wednesday. He said he was too “afraid and ashamed” to speak up after the incident happened, and when The New York Times approached him in recent days with questions about the case.
“I tried to seek justice in a way that made sense to me at the time because I was not ready to deal with the ramifications of my story becoming public,” he said in a statement provided to The Times. “At the time I believed there was still a stigma to being in the situation as a male in our society. I didn’t think that people would understand the event that took place from the eyes of a teenage boy.”
Is he wrong? I’ve seen more than a few comments talking about how hot she is, so that it’s no biggie, and saying you can’t rape men.
A woman (allegedly) got a barely-17-year-old (they were celebrating his birthday) drunk, pushed him down onto a bed, performed oral sex on him and then had intercourse. This woman proceeded to say he was “like a son” to her.
She says it never happened, and that they never had a “sexual relationship.”
Recent texts and pictures released by TMZ reeeeally put that into question.
I mean…

I know things can be twisted… but this certainly adds up with what Jimmy has alleged.
I dunno… it seems pretty screwed up to me. And no, he’s absolutely not wrong in feeling he wouldn’t receive the same support women do when facing sexual abuse.
I mean, his attacker HERSELF was saying we should “believe all victims” … you know, unless they happen to be HER victims.
The whole situation is BEYOND creepy to me.
PS there’s a scene in the trailer for the movie they star in together where Argento and Bennet’s character drink SOMETHING (could be beer, could not be. It sure looks like beer.) together… despite the fact he’s a little boy:

Life imitates art?
Kind of a creepy image now, is it not?
