The camera has bright lights directed at her in this photo. Light DOES lighten your skin and creates highlights. That is how light works in skin.

Everyone complaining about her being 'white' in the pic, its an artistic technique to do the shading and detail etc in brown to signify her skin colour, he obviously wasn't trying to whitewash her and the drawing is great and sentiment lovely so wind your necks in

If a conservative painted this, people would be all, “OMG he’s WHITEWASHING HER OMG OMG.” You know it’s true. Heck, I could see CARREY saying that. It’s just amazing how the standards magically change.
