Paul Joseph Watson asks…Why is society normalizing mental illness?
Watch:
I gotta admit… I’m a crier. I tear up at military family “reunion” videos all the time…
However, I’m actually way more prone to tearing up when I’m happy than when I’m upset. you know what I mean? I’m not a tantrum thrower… I’M EMPATHETIC. I WILL NEVER CRY BECAUSE I GOT THE WRONG SAUCE WITH MY MCNUGGETS.
PJW made one REALLY interesting point. He mentioned that people like to say there’s a “stigma” around depression… when the opposite is true. In my experience with social media, he’s entirely right.
Lately, I’ve seen more and more people FLAUNT their “depression and anxiety” like it’s some kind of badge of honor. They write long “brave” Facebook posts about how their anxiety has “changed their lives” but they’re going to talk openly about it “to help others.” They get 200 likes and just as many comments about how “brave and empowered!” they are.
This would be “brave” and “empowering” if I didn’t see it every other day. Seriously. It’s become TRENDY to brag about your “anxiety.”
Could it be because of stuff like this?
YUP.
Kendall Jenner has “anxiety” …so now a bunch of girls who want an excuse for their stress and their inability to cope with life all have “anxiety,” too.
I would like to mention Kendall Jenner is a RUNWAY MODEL. Because nothing says “crippling social anxiety” quite like walking down a runway in your skivvies.

Kendall seems amazing, it’s BS when people try to label a person they have never met, as being rude etc! I also suffer from severe anxiety. I have been labeled standoffish, shy, and rude! I look up to @KendallJenner for talking about her anxiety on TV, she has helped me!!! https://t.co/YB23akLDJV

I see some compassion☺️but a lot of you feel just because she is rich and famous, she can’t have anxiety🤦🏻♀️ She is HUMAN! Mental illness does not discriminate! I too am standoffish because of my anxiety. I feel for you Kendall❤️

[ ] good luck, Kendall! I have social anxiety too, so I just like..focus more on the project than socializing. dunno if that helps hh.

Poor Kendall. I know how awful anxiety can be. Everyone always said I was snobby, but in reality I was dying inside trying not to have a panic attack. And just wanting to flee!! The fact that she is a model and killing it is amazing!! She could be a spokesperson for anxiety

kendall def has anxiety haha it’s transparent on KUWTK.
I too suffer from anxiety every single day.
Just because she’s famous doesn’t mean she doesn’t have real problems & can’t have anxiety. There are many forms/reasons why ppl have it— taylor (@drapertaylorr) August 6, 2018

I’m not saying some people don’t actually suffer from debilitating mental illness. They do – and it should be treated with compassion and care. That being said… I GUARANTEE the vast majority of people basically BRAGGING about their “mental health issues” on Social Media just need to have a cup of coffee and DEAL WITH LIFE.
