Full disclosure: The Cheesecake Factory is one of my favorite restaurant chains. I love that their menu is the size of a small book. I love their stuffed chicken tortillas, and their Oreo cheesecake is to DIE for. Back in the day– when I could really throw down– I would bring a piece of that bad boy home and eat it before bed. THE ENTIRE THING.
^^me
It was rough, and I felt sick after, only to later find out that it’s the highest calorie cheesecake they HAVE there. It’s seriously like, a day’s worth of food for me.
But I’m ALL about the Cheesecake Factory. I mean, they even have a Skinnylicious menu, which kinda sorta sucks because the other food is so much better, but STILL. #options.
Moving on. I only bring up the Cheesecake Factory, because a nonprofit watchdog– The Center for Science in the Public Interest– recently “honored” one of TCF’s signature breakfast items. The Cheesecake Factory’s breakfast burrito got the organization’s “2018 Xtreme Eating Award for ‘Worst Way to Start Your Day.'” Why? Well for starters, it’s 2,730 calories, which is over most people’s caloric limit for an entire day. Oh. And it contains two days worth of sodium (4,630 milligrams).
Talk about BLOAT. But also…get in my bellaaaaaaaaaay.
To put that in perspective, one breakfast burrito at The Cheesecake Factory was equivalent to eating seven McDonald’s sausage McMuffins.
Wrapped in a warm tortilla, the burrito is ‘filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, chicken chorizo, cheese, crispy potatoes, avocado, peppers and onions, over spicy ranchero sauce’ and served with sour cream, salsa and black beans, according to the CSPI.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. That sounds TASTY. However, I’d never eat this for breakfast. I’m not much of a breakfast person. I love breakfast FOOD, but I take it easy in the morning, just because I feel like garbage the rest of the day if I start out bad. If I’m gonna ruin myself, I’d rather do it at night. That way, I can sleep it off and ignore the burrito belly. Come on girls. You know where I’m coming from!
By the way, Chili’s Grill & Bar’s Honey-chipotle Chicken Crispers & Waffles– which I didn’t even know was A Thing until five minutes ago– is also really bad. It’s “like eating five Krispy Kreme glazed doughnuts smothered in 30 McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets and five packets of barbecue sauce.”
So….maybe skip that one? Or just eat one of the waffles? Or not. YOLO. Whatever.
