Eleven Children Found Starving And Abused In ‘Extremist Muslim’ Compound In New Mexico

It sounds like a scene from a horror film –

ELEVEN starving children were rescued this weekend from a filthy compound in the desert of New Mexico. The kids were so skinny their ribs noticeably protruded from their bodies – the only food to be found anywhere on the compound “a box of rice and some potatoes.”

Taos County Sheriff Hogrefe described the scene as the “saddest he had ever seen in 30 years of police work.”

It’s not hard to see why.

The three Muslim mothers who were found on a New Mexico compound on Friday with 11 starving children have been pictured in their mugshots after being charged with child abuse.

Sisters Hujrah Wahhaj, 38, and Subhanah Wahhaj, 35, were charged along with their sister-in-law Jany Leveille, 35 on Sunday, two days after police first said they had been ‘brainwashed’ by the men at the compound.

The men are Siraj Wahhaj, 39. He is a brother two of the women and is married to Leveille. Also arrested was Lucas Morton, Subhanah’s husband.

Siraj has been missing since December when he vanished from Georgia with his three-year-old disabled son, AG.

His young son from suffers from hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, which causes seizures, developmental delay, wears braces on his legs, cannot walk, and requires daily medication.

Heartbreakingly, his father believed his disability was a sign was possessed, and kidnapped him in order to perform an exorcism.

Police who were looking for him and his father had been monitoring the compound in New Mexico but it was not until a message from one of the victims inside emerged to say they were ‘starving’ that authorities finally went in.

The message was intercepted by Taos County Sheriff’s Office. It read: ‘We are starving and need food and water.’

Authorities will not say how the message was delivered or who gave it to them but Sheriff Hogrefe said it meant he could not wait any longer for federal authorities to move in on the site.

I’m sorry… but I have a hard time understanding how they simply “monitored” the compound as those poor babies were being TORTURED inside.

The message itself also makes me SO sad. Was it from one of the women, was it from one of the children? Surely they were risking their lives to try and get help.

Sheriff Hogrefe said on Friday that the family was considered ‘extremist of the Muslim belief’.

What’s creepy is a few of them are the children of a known Muslim leader in the US.

These aren’t just “nobodies.”

The Wahhaj siblings are the children of the Imam Siraj Wahhaj, 68, who is the leader of the Muslim Alliance of North America.

They have been missing together since at least January when their father appealed for information of their whereabouts on social media.

On Friday, Wahhaj was found in the compound with an AR-15 rifle, five magazines loaded with 30 rounds and four loaded pistols.

Sadly… the 3-year-old disabled boy was not found.

I hate to say it, but this doesn’t bode well for him.

I hope the authorities weren’t too late, and that this little boy may still be found alive… but I have to admit I’d be surprised if they do.

When police closed in on the property on Friday, his father initially refused to follow orders.

Police worried that the raid would end violently because of the fact he was so heavily armed.

It seems everyone was taken out of the compound without any sort of violent escalation.

I PRAY the eleven babies found on that compound get the help and love they need to heal, and move on with their lives in the healthiest and most normal way possible.
