Last weekend, President Trump issued a seemingly random warning about shutting down the government over the wall.
I would be willing to “shut down” government if the Democrats do not give us the votes for Border Security, which includes the Wall! Must get rid of Lottery, Catch & Release etc. and finally go to system of Immigration based on MERIT! We need great people coming into our Country!

Well, it’s not a random warning. It’s the topic of conversation in DC. It sounds like the GOP is already giving up on funding the wall this time around…again.
During a recent radio interview with WHAS, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell hinted that border wall funding will “probably” have to wait until after the midterm elections.
“But most of the government will be covered and then at the end of the year, if we can’t reach an agreement on that, we’ll do what’s called a ‘continuing resolution’ for that little portion of the government spending that’s left unpassed in individual bills,” McConnell said.
House Speaker Paul Ryan also hinted that border wall funding will have to wait.
“The president’s willing to be patient to make sure that we get what we need so we can get that done,” Ryan said.
He tried to ease tensions by noting that border wall funding is “not a question of if, it’s a question of when.”
I certainly hope so, because it’s really starting to feel like an “if.”
President Trump has threatened to “shut down” the government over funding for border security. During his rally in Pennsylvania Thursday, he said he’d prefer to have this go down PRIOR to the midterms.
“I would personally prefer before, but whether it’s before or after, we’re either getting it or we’re closing down government,” Trump said. “We need border security. We need border security.”
“You know who thinks it should be before?” Trump asked. “Rush Limbaugh thinks it should be before. You know who else? Sean Hannity. A lot of ’em.”
You know how Congress works. They’ll wait until the very last minute to make a move.
