August 2, 2018Thursday’s White House press briefing was a tense one.
CNN’s Jim Acosta decided to ask Sarah Sanders a follow up to another question about Trump describing the press as the “enemy of the people.”
“I think it would be a good thing if you were to say right here at this briefing if the press … are the not enemy of the people,” he said. “I think we deserve that.”
What a self-important prick.
Sarah Sanders handed him his a$$ on a silver platter. He was utterly unprepared.

“It’s ironic Jim that not only you and the media attack the President for his rhetoric when they frequently lower the level of conversation in this country,” Sanders said. “The media has attacked me personally on a number of occasions… said that I should be harassed, that I should be choked.”
“When I was hosted by the correspondence association you brought a comedian up to attack my appearance and called me a traitor to my own gender,” she continued.
OH FREAKING SNAP.
“The media continues to ratchet up the verbal assault against the president and everyone in this administration,” she added. “Certainly we have a role to play, but the media has a role to play for the discourse in this country as well.”
She added that she is– as far as she knows– the first press secretary who requires Secret Service protection.
Why is that, exactly?
Sarah Sanders didn’t concede, and why SHOULD she? She’s absolutely right. Why is OK for the press to attack her personally? Why aren’t the Jim Acostas of the world responsible for THEIR rhetoric?
Because Sarah didn’t bow down, kiss Acosta’s feet and give the answer he desired, he’s melting down on Twitter.
I walked out of the end of that briefing because I am totally saddened by what just happened. Sarah Sanders was repeatedly given a chance to say the press is not the enemy and she wouldn't do it. Shameful.
