This bites for Tim Tebow.
Word has it he’s suffered from some sort of “freak” injury, breaking his right hand.
Tebow initially hurt his hand swinging the bat in the seventh inning of his last appearance on July 19 against Trenton and the Mets placed the former NFL quarterback on the seven-day disabled list two days later. He went to New York to see a hand specialist on Monday morning after undergoing an X-ray and an MRI last Friday.
He’s expected to undergo surgery tomorrow and will miss the rest of the season.

Source confirms: Tim Tebow broke the hamate bone in his right hand and will undergo surgery tomorrow.
Tebow had opened eyes this year at Double-A Binghamton, batting .273 with six home runs and a .734 OPS. This severely damages any chance he had at being a September call-up.
