I don’t have any kids of my own and therefore haven’t had to consider the possibilities for nourishing my infant, but I’m totally “for” breastfeeding. It’s a beautiful thing. HOWEVER. I’m not someone who would breastfeed in public. Like, you know those women who don’t even do it discreetly? They just flip out a boob and walk around? Yeah…no. Yes, it’s natural, and yes, your kid is hungry, but personally? I think you should strategically cover up or step out if the entire boobular area is exposed.
That’s just my thoughts on the matter.
That being said, you probably won’t be surprised to find out that I truly don’t understand this.
Behold: A swimsuit model (Mara Martin) breastfeeding during her walk at the Sports Illustrated swimsuit fashion show.

Hm.
Post-catwalk, fans flooded Martin’s Instagram with supportive comments.
“This is so powerful,” writes Haley Kalil, who won this year’s SI Swimsuit Model search and also walked in the fashion show.
Some social media users were less into it, commenting that it seemed “over-glorifying” of breastfeeding and “unnecessary.” But in general, the response has been positive.
I mean, yay, but also, why? Is this one of those "look at me, I'm a mom and model" kind of shticks?
Don't get me wrong. I don't have a problem with it. I just don't get it, I guess. Woohoo- you're moming so hard. Go you.
I don't know. What do YOU think? "Empowering" or nah?
