Eight. That’s the number of boys rescued from the cave in Thailand. Four kids and their coach remain.
It is not entirely clear how the four boys extracted today were chosen from the remaining eight, but this morning it was reported that the strategy had changed from starting with the strongest, to bringing out the weakest first.
Cave diver and anaesthetist Dr Richard Harris, from Adelaide, Australia dived with the rescue team on Sunday afternoon to check on the 12 boys and their coach and advised a change in strategy.
Dr Harris’ health assessment found some of the weaker boys may not survive if they were left behind, according to Thai media, and so they are thought to have been brought out first.
Authorities have been rushing to extract the boys and their coach from the cave as monsoon rains bore down overnight, and are expected to continue overnight into Tuesday.
Here’s hoping the remaining rescues go as smoothly as the others.
Enter Sen. Dick Durbin. He just had to use the situation to harp on something completely unrelated.
“Hearts and prayers are with those boys in Thailand trapped in the cave,” Durbin said on NBC. “I hope our hearts and prayers are also with thousands of children – toddlers and infants – removed from their parents by the Trump administration under zero-tolerance.”
“They’re trapped in a bureaucratic cave too. So let’s not forget them,” he added.
Seriously? Does he realize how ridiculous he sounds? One topic has NOTHING to do with the other.
Why are you all so crazy? #Democrats https://t.co/OaTtMcOYOd

Save your virtue-signaling nonsense for another conversation, Dick.
