Susan Collins is one of the crappiest “Republican” lawmakers out there. I wish she didn’t pretend to be on our side, because she sucks beyond belief. If you recall, she’s the one who basically killed the GOP’s healthcare bill. She also told MSNBC that it’s “difficult to say” if Trump will be the Republican nominee in 2020, which is completely absurd.
Remember that?
Yeah. We’re talking about THAT Susan Collins.
She wants everyone to know that she’s not voting for any Supreme Court nominee who opposes Roe v. Wade.
GOP Sen. Susan Collins, a key vote on Trump’s SCOTUS nominee, says, “A candidate for this important position who would overturn Roe v. Wade would not be acceptable to me because that would indicate an activist agenda that I don’t want to see a judge have.” #ThisWeek pic.twitter.com/FXt2sJN7fT

This is an idiotic remark for a number of reasons. It doesn’t matter if a nominee personally hates the decision, because the SCOTUS can’t just randomly decide to revisit the issue anytime it wants. That’s not how it works. There’s a process. Secondly, Trump said he’s probably not asking nominees about their personal feelings on Roe v. Wade anyway. That’s irrelevant. And might I just add that Collins’ statement is ridiculous?
“A candidate for this important position who would overturn Roe v. Wade would not be acceptable to me because that would indicate an activist agenda that I don’t want to see a judge have.”
OK…but what would the scenario be if the judge said he or she LOVED Roe v. Wade and would never ever ever ever EVER think of even SPEAKING against it? Would that not also be considered an agenda-driven stance?
Maine, do us all a favor and vote Susan OUT. She’s a constant source of disappointment.
