Holy crap, you guys. Michael Moore has always been unhinged, but DAYUM.
He cries every single day when watching the news, y’all.
And he’s convinced that Trump is trying to be president for life.
“Sadly, Trump is not going to leave,” he said. “He plans to be reelected, he loves the term ‘president for life.’ The only way that we’re going to stop this is eventually we’re all going to have to put our bodies on the line. You’re going to have to be willing to do this.” Moore then turned to the audience and asked them what they would do if “they snatched your child from you.” Because “that’s how we all have to start responding.”
OMG.
Things just got weird toward the end when Colbert started trying to play psychotherapist to Moore by explaining what “despair” means. I was worried that there was going to be a really long, awkward embrace.
If Moore is right that people like him are the majority? We’re doomed. But happily, I don’t think that’s the case. Colbert’s audience? Sure. They’re every bit as idiotic as Michael Moore. But regular Americans living regular lives in reality? They’re the ones thanking Trump for the extra money in their paychecks after the tax cut. They’re the ones who appreciate the amazing economic growth and low unemployment we’re seeing now. They’re the ones who want a strong military, who love Israel, who care about their kids learning Actual Subjects instead of 843 different gender pronouns, and they’re the ones who are sick and tired of elitist blowhards telling them that they’re racist and misogynist and whatever else-ist.
Your new movie looks positively asinine, Michael Moore. Go away.
