The Democrats Try To Skewer Trump’s Travel Ban, Fail Miserably

The big news yesterday? The Supreme Court upheld President Trump’s travel ban, which restricted travel from a handful of countries known to sponsor terrorism.

Trump’s statement read:

“Today’s Supreme Court ruling is a tremendous victory for the American People and the Constitution. The Supreme Court has upheld the clear authority of the President to defend the national security of the United States. In this era of worldwide terrorism and extremist movements bent on harming innocent civilians, we must properly vet those coming into our country. This ruling is also a moment of profound vindication following months of hysterical commentary from the media and Democratic politicians who refuse to do what it takes to secure our border and our country. As long as I am President, I will defend the sovereignty, safety, and security of the American People, and fight for an immigration system that serves the national interests of the United States and its citizens. Our country will always be safe, secure, and protected on my watch.”

Democrats are livid. Their analysis of the ruling is a joke.

Trump’s Muslim ban is not only unconscionable and antithetical to everything this country stands for but makes us less safe and threatens our place as a beacon of freedom for the world. Democrats will continue to fight against these discriminatory policies at every step.

There’s so much wrong here. Where to begin?

For starters, it’s not a “Muslim ban.” This has no effect on the VAST MAJORITY of Muslim-majority nations. Therefore, IT IS NOT A MUSLIM BAN. Second of all, restricting travel from countries known to sponsor terrorism does, in fact, make us safer. I can’t even believe that needs to be said. Finally, this isn’t discriminatory in any way because 1.) It doesn’t apply to the majority of Muslim nations and 2.) These nations were previously flagged by the Obama administration.

Vetting people coming into the country is a no brainer. Remember Obama wanted to take in as many refugees from the middle east as we could? European countries showed everyone how much better they are than the US by taking them in. How’s that working?
